Font Inclusion Policy
Standards and requirements for reviewing, collecting, indexing, and displaying font resources on FontHubs.

1. Introduction
FontHubs is committed to building a safe, transparent, and legally compliant open-source font platform. This policy explains the standards used when reviewing, collecting, indexing, displaying, or hosting font resources.
Our goal is to support the open-source font ecosystem while respecting the intellectual property rights of font designers, foundries, and copyright holders.
2. Supported Font Licenses
FontHubs primarily accepts fonts distributed under recognized open-source or freely licensed terms, including but not limited to:
- SIL Open Font License (OFL)
- Apache License
- GPL with Font Exception
- CC0 / Public Domain
- MIT-style font licenses
- Other verified free/open font licenses
Fonts must include valid license information and comply with the terms of the corresponding license.
3. Fonts We Do NOT Accept
FontHubs does not knowingly host, index, distribute, or promote:
- Cracked or pirated commercial fonts
- Fonts with unclear or unverifiable licensing
- "Personal Use Only" fonts
- Demo or trial fonts
- Fonts distributed without permission
- Modified fonts that remove copyright notices
- Fonts uploaded without valid authorization
- Fonts that infringe third-party intellectual property rights
We reserve the right to reject or remove any font at our sole discretion.
4. License Verification Process
Before a font is published, we may review:
- Original license files
- Copyright notices
- Official source repositories
- Author or foundry information
- Public project pages
- GitHub or official distribution channels
FontHubs does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or continued validity of any licensing information. Users remain responsible for reviewing and complying with applicable font licenses before use.
5. Commercial Use Disclaimer
Many fonts on FontHubs may be suitable for commercial use under their respective open-source licenses, but requirements vary. Some licenses require attribution or copyright retention; certain use cases may require additional permissions.
Users should independently review license terms before use in branding, logos, apps, SaaS, embedded distribution, games, advertising, merchandise, or large-scale commercial projects.
6. Copyright Notices and Attribution
Unless explicitly permitted by the license, users must not remove:
- Copyright notices
- License files
- Author attributions
- Reserved font names (where applicable)
7. User Uploads
If user uploads are enabled, users must ensure that they:
- own the rights to upload the font, or have obtained proper authorization;
- and the font complies with this policy.
Users are solely responsible for uploaded content. FontHubs reserves the right to remove any uploaded font at any time.
8. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us with proof of ownership, relevant URL(s), a description of the alleged infringement, and your contact information. We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or take other appropriate actions.
9. Repeat Infringer Policy
Accounts repeatedly associated with copyright infringement or policy violations may be permanently suspended or terminated.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of FontHubs constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
